Hi there, many thanks for your interest in us.

If you're a radical decentralist who wants to go beyond Scottish independence, you've landed well here.

Our (the Fife National Party's) application to the Electoral Commission in Scotland for registration has been rejected, the pathetic justification being that voters could confuse the Fife National Party with the Scottish National Party on ballot papers ! (the EC presumably reckons that voters can nonetheless somehow distinguish between the British National Party and the SNP).

The upshot of the EC's decision is, by the way, that in England there will always be only one 'National' Party, the BNP.

We are not going away ! We will continue as the non-registered FNP.

Our aim is independence for Fife, outside the EU. Fife's population is some 370,000, far more than that of the UN members Liechtenstein, Andorra and San Marino combined.

Why “outside the EU” ? Because unlike the SNP we believe that free trade with anyone, anywhere, is a natural human right. The protectionist racket aka the EU, with its thousands of tariffs ripping off consumers day-in, day-out, is the very antithesis of free trade. Also, EU members are subject to the jurisdiction of the European Central Court. We believe that local jurisdictions should be paramount.

Many will regard our goal as laughable. But geo-political changes can happen very fast. For example, who would have expected the welcome implosion of the USSR and other European ‘socialist’ states to occur so quickly ? And which Irish patriot, in early 1914, could have dreamt that the Irish Free State would be founded only 8 years later ?

We invite you to think outside the box about decentralisation. Until 1974 the SNP was a tiny party, yet it almost brought Scotland independence 10 years ago.

Mini and microstates are the future; just look at a few more European examples (Latvia 1.9m; Luxemburg 600,000; Malta 475,000; Montenegro 640,000; Iceland 330,000; Slovenia and North Macedonia both 2m.

The spirit of the times is with us. For at least 80 years the trend has been towards decentralisation. The days of Hitler’s and Stalin’s annexations are over, even though the two global powers, the USA and China, still aim to retain or gain nominally independent client states such as the UK (Orwell’s ‘Airstrip One’ in ‘1984’).

Very importantly; the smaller the state, the less power the mass media have. People can find out things ‘immediately’.

A few thoughts on the kind of Fife we want to see :

IMMIGRATION: should be very selective; we want quality, not quantity. And respecting the Enlightenment principle of secularity, as well as upholding women's rights, religious dogmatists need not apply to reside here.

TRADE: Free trade being a natural right, Fife should impose no import tariffs. For reasons of animal welfare, however, the import of halal/kosher meat will be banned.

LIMITED LIABILITY: will be abolished. It puts small businesses at a disadvantage against the Big Boys, the PLCs.

NATURAL RIGHTS: such as the right to our body; to a fair share of the gifts of nature (or God, if you want); to the full product of our labour; to travel without let or hindrance; to free trade with anyone, anywhere; to free speech.

REVENUE: will be raised not through taxation but from user-fees for Fife’s land and other natural resources.

CURRENCY: To prevent instability, the Fife pound will unconditionally track the British pound for 4-5 years.

POPULATION LEVEL: to be sustainable, based on our bio-capacity as determined by the Global Footprint Network. On this criterion, Fife’s population is roughly double what it should be. Incentives to breed will be speedily phased out.

HEAD OF STATE: Republic or Constitutional Monarchy ? To be decided by referendum. We favour the Swiss republican model.

Wir zielen auf ein unabhängiges Fife, ausserhalb der EU.

Fife hat ca. 370,000 Einwohner, weitaus mehr als die UN-Mitgliedstaaten Liechtenstein, Andorra und San Marino.

Warum “ausserhalb der EU” ? Weil im Gegensatz zur SNP glauben wir, dass der Freihandel mit allen, egal wo, ein natürliches Menschenrecht ist. Die protektionistische Masche aka die EU rüpft die Verbraucher tagein, tagaus; sie ist das Gegenbild zum Freihandel. Ausserdem; die Mitgliedstaate unterliegen der Rechtssprechung des europäischen Gerichtshofs; wir sind für Rechtsprechung vor Ort.

Viele werden unser Ziel als Spinnerei abtun. Aber geopolitische Änderungen können sehr schnell eintreten, tektonisch sozusagen. Zum Beispiel; wer hätte gedacht, dass die willkommene Implosion der UdSSR und anderer ‘sozialistischen’ Staate so schnell eintreten würde ?

Wir laden Sie ein, querzudenken über Dezentralisierung. Mini- und Microstaate sind die Zukunft; schauen wir uns weitere europäische Beispiele an (alle UN-Mitgliedsstaate): Malta, 475.000 Einwohner; Island 330.000; Montenegro 640.000; Luxemburg 600.000; Lettland 1,9 Millionen; Slovenien sowie Nord-Mazedonien 2 Millionen).

Äusserst wichtig; je kleiner der Staat, desto weniger macht haben die Massenmedien. Die Menschen können mehr unmittelbar herausfinden.

Ein paar Gedanken zum Fife, die wir uns wünschen:

HANDEL: Der Freihandel ist ein grundsätzliches Menschenrecht. Fife sollte keine Importzölle erheben. Allerdings sollte aus Gründen der Tiergerechtheit die Einführ von Halal/Kosher-Fleisch verboten werden.

STAATSEINKOMMEN: nicht durch Steuern sondern durch die Erhebung von Gebühren für die Nutzung des Bodens und anderer Naturressourcen (Staatseigentum).
